Concrete Aspirations has been run by Izzy Kornblatt, an amateur with a strong interest in the theory and practice of architecture, since it was founded in April 2011. Its content is generated exclusively by him (me) except where explicitly noted.

It is a place for my constantly evolving thoughts on architecture in its wider social context — so I also go into urbanism, design, politics, culture, etc.

The background image is a significantly altered photograph of the colorful columns of Richard Rogers’s Madrid Airport. Concrete Aspirations is powered by WordPress with the theme Chunk by Automaticc. The iPad version of Concrete Aspirations utilizes WordPress’s Onswipe.

Feel free to leave any kind of feedback.

    Hi Izzy,
This is an amazing blog! I am very impressed. Have you considered studying architectural history after you graduate from high school? I am a recent graduate from the Architectural History program at the University of Virginia (I actually lived in Jefferson’s Academical Village) now living in CT, and would be happy to talk to you more about the program if you have any interest.
